History:

The department started functioning in 1981 under the guidance of G. S. Perhar and Dr. A. A. Mahashur. Over the years it has graduated to a multidisciplinary specialty department with excellent teaching and research programmes in tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases. A holistic approach is followed in management of patients with respiratory problems.


Services Offered:

  • Out patients (OPD) services all working days (Monday to Saturday, 8.30 am to 12.30 pm) for diagnosis and management of all respiratory diseases
  •  
  • Attached Area TB centre for comprehensive management of Tuberculosis as per Revised National TB Control programme.
  •  
  • Facilities for management of Multi Drug Resistant TB with the help of medical social worker ( MSW) dept.
  •  
  • Fibreoptic bronchoscopy with video attachment for routine diagnosis and emergency treatment

  • Pulmonary function laboratory with computerised flow volume loops, measurement of diffusion and lung volumes and capacities

  • Attached Indoor services for providing care for patients requiring hospitalization for respiratory ailments
  •  
  • Indoor admissions for treating patients with respiratory failure with non invasive ventilators
