Department : Ground Floor, Main Hospital Building
CT Scan : First floor, CT Scan Building (behind OPD building)
Mammography Unit : First floor, Radiation Oncology Centre (next to OPD building)


History:

The department of Radiology started its activity in a major way in 1958. Nair Hospital started offering services of CT Scan to patients in 1983 being the first public hospital in the city to offer this facility. The first Head CT Scan of the hospital was replaced with the Whole Body CT Scan in the year 1992. The department was also amongst the first public hospitals to acquire other modern facilities such as Color Doppler and Mammography.

Investigation		     The department is very well equipped to carry out various routine and specialized radiological and imaging procedures. In the last year alone (1999 - 2000) more than 1,30,000 patients underwent various tests in Radiology department.

The department caters to more than 400 patients every day. For routine radiology & USG, the department has:

    		•  High Power Conventional X-Ray machines

    		•  Modern Image Intensifier R/F systems
  •  
    		•  Conventional Ultrasonography machines


    Special Services:

    State of the Art modern equipments such as Whole Body CT Scanner, Color Doppler and Mammography with Stereotactic facility are available in the department.
