    IPCU is six-bedded unit, which takes care of critically ill patients. Senior pediatric registrars man it round the clock. It is well equipped with all the modern equipments like ventilators (5), pulse oximeters, ECG machine, nebuliser, syringe infusion pumps, doppler, Multiparameter monitor, portable Xray machine etc.

This unit is working since twenty one years. It caters to critically ill patients who are referred from Mumbai and its suburbs as well as other parts of Maharashtra. Major procedures like central venous lines, peripheral cut downs, intercostal drainage, peritoneal dialysis, mechanical ventilation, lumbar puncture and other interventions are carried out. The average occupancy of this unit is almost 100. An expansion and further modernisation of unit was done in 2002 to increase the space of IPCU with latest equipment.


Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU):

The level III neonatal intensive care unit is located on the 2nd floor of the OPD Bldg. All critically ill newborns and premature babies born in the hospital and referred from outside are admitted to the NICU. The unit has trained postgraduate students round the clock . Equipment like Ventilators(2), Pulse ox monitors, Syringe Infusion pumps,Phototherapy machines, are available for optimum treatment. Procedures also are performed on critically ill neonates like Intubation, passing umbilical lines and exchange transfusions.

Postgraduate students and staff members are offering services for School Health Camps, Aroagya Melas, and Healthy baby contest.
