Clinical Neurophysiology: The Neurology Department has acquired a 44 channel Nicolet Viasys VEEG machine that has facility to record long term Video EEG. The VEEG recording has improved the diagnosis of Epilepsy. Around 1000 EEG records were done in the year 2008 from January to December. VEEG is extremely useful for diagnosis of Epileptic and Non-epileptic seizures. For epilepsies VEEG is useful in the correct classification of seizures and epilepsy syndrome. The ictal EEG record is essential for localizing the epileptogenic zone. This is an essential part of pre surgical evaluation for Epilepsy Surgery. The Care of epilepsy patients has significantly improved with this facility. |
| EEG: Nicolet One n EEG, multimodality and Video EEG, Viasys. 40 channel with facility for evoked potentials and polysomnography. |
