    There are one DM Endocrinology registrations/year in the department.

    Over the last 4 years we have worked on:

  • Screening for thyroid disorders, diabetes and lipid disorders.

  • Clinical profile of subclinical hypothyroidism and role of l-thyroxine in subclinical hypothyroidism.

  • Adrenal reserve in patients with thyrotoxicosis.
  •  
  • Leptin levels and insulin resistance in obese and normal population.
    Role of Leptin in the pathogenesis of PCOD and the effect of Metformin therapy.

  • Effect of inhaled steroid on the HPA axis and bone metabolism in mild asthma.
  •  
  • Association of Rheumatologic disorders and thyroid dysfunction with special reference to thyroid autoantibodies.

  • GAD antibodies in Latent Autoimmune Diabetes Mellitus.

  • Prevalence of diabetes on patients on atypical anti-psychotics drugs attending Nair Hospital Psychiatry OPD.
    Study of Diabetogenic potential of atypical vs typical anti-psychotic drugs and their overall risk benefit ratio.
